A Year Ago Or So

Flashing back to last Spring, 2020 ~ O, my! We thought we'd all get COVID and then die We lived our daily lives in utter fear a cough or sneeze's drops just might adhere to a surface we'd accidentally touch ~ We'd be put on a ventilator or such So many confined in a hospiral all alone Their only family contact, the phone... A year later we survivors are nearly worry-free Masks off, we frolic on land and by the sea Let us be grateful for our lives and for our health Beating hearts more precious than vast wealth

For sure, if one has health, everything else is within reach. Good one my friend. Enjoyed the read very much.

Hi Gershon; Ila and I had Sars about 25 years ago -- never had been so sick in all my life. High fever, congestion for about 3 days. Unreal. Fourth day I was back at work, heavy lifting, and I felt weak, not full strength for about a year after. Seeing we had been exposed to a similar virus, we were not super causcious with this round of Covet, only wearing a mask when forced to in certain stores. Held Garage Sales often during the pandemic, never wearing a mask. We have been fine...not even a measurable sniffle. So, take my story for what it is worth. Joe.

Thanks, Joe. And thanks for not preaching about how the virus is still among us and it's too early to unmask and all that. Apopreciated, gw

Great write, reminding people the virus is not completely gone and will be here for quiet awhile Gershon! If you remember I fought for my life, and thankful that I survived it. Arrogance and the refuting of science are two fatal flaws folks should shed off their skin and psyche. Peace, stay safe!...ab

Hi Gershon, I agree a year ago; things were different. Covid 19 claimed many lives. The whole nation was terrified. Things are different but is still not over. But I am grateful for me, my family and friends to still be alive. Have a wonderful day and weekend my friend-Alexis

Oh, so true, Gershon, but I am still very concerned about the Delta COVID variant that is taking hold. I encourage everyone to get every protection and observe every caution. It may be too soon to take off the mask, so I bought a new one yesterday. Best wishes, friend. Excellent couplets.

As fpr me, the mask's been off for a bit, and it's staying off, unless I see concrete evidence of a huge uptick in hospitalizations in Chicago. We're at 1.1% positivity in Illinois with over 65% of the state fully vaccinated. And the experts have assured us that full vaccination is effective against the variant. Time to live again. Anyone is free to keep the mask on, of course. Mine is staying off though. ~ Just sayin'

Who'd have thought we'd see a global pandemic in our lifetime Gershon. Infections still raging here with varients. Still have to wear masks in shops etc. Tom

The USA is pretty wide open at this point. Many still are uncomfortable taking off their masks, but really with many states over 65% fully vaccinated, I think they're overly cautious, if not a bit brainwashed. ~ Just sayin,' gw
