A Writer In Love
I often feel like im drowing.
Everything pushes me down until I cant breathe.
I try to keep my head above water but I cant help it.
I sink.
I often feel like I am in the eye of a storm.
The storm of my thoughts.
Everything moves around me and I can almost feel it,
But no matter how hard I reach I cannot grasp it.
I often feel like I am in an earthquake.
There is no stable ground for me to stand on,
Every step i take is unknown,
And there is no safety or shelter.
But when I am with you that all goes away.
The water parts,
The storm clears,
The ground stops,
And for a moment everything is peaceful.
When I feel the warmth of your arms around me I feel at home.
Home is not a building with four walls,
Home is a feeling.
Home is warm.
Home is when you come inside from the cold with a cup of hot chocolate and a fuzzy blanket.
Home is safe.
Home is hiding under a blanket with a flashlight where no monsters can reach you.
I feel at home with you because when I am with you I can stop running.
I dont have to be in the constant chase in my mind.
When I am with you I can rest.
I dont need to stress or worry,
All I need to do is be there,
In that moment,
With you.
Every time you hold my hand the gun fire stops.
Every time you hug me the fire beneath me goes out.
Every time you kiss me I can feel the sun on my skin.
You are my home.
My safe, warm home.
When I am with you the water parts,
The storm clears,
The ground stops shaking,
And that,
Is from a writer in love.
