A World Without War
A world without war . . .
When was mankind ever without it?
Over the centuries,
Rumors and the rumblings of war have seemed to persist.
Little does it seem there is anything the common man can do.
Do we even believe in the possibility of peace?
We dream and sing of peace. As John Lennon sang,
“Imagine all the people livin’ in peace.”
The world would be such a different place.
How wonderful to think of that – a world in which
Our children need never fear war’s horrors, and
Unified in peace, all nations thrived!
“Triumphant” would take on a different meaning. . .
Were the world at peace, “triumphant” could be defined
As an adjective for overcoming prejudice, hate, and greed.
Rich in love would be our world. In fact, we would be heaven.
