A Woman's Work Is Never Done

"A Woman's Work Is Never Done",
a phrase that's often heard.
There's a lot of truth that's hidden,
just in those few words.

She has to cook and clean the house
and get her youngsters off to school.
She does the laundry and the shopping
and teaches kids the "Golden Rule".

She drives them to the movies
and attends their school events.
She satisfies her husbands needs,
her life is real intense!

She asks for little in return,
she just does what must be done.
She feels it's all the woman's job,
and sometimes, it's even fun!

So kudos to those women.
Let's stand and give a toast.
They accomplish all these many tasks,
for the folks that they love most.

Next time the phrase is uttered,
"A Woman's Work Is Never Done",
pray that God will bless them all,
each and every one!

Many thanks to all you ladies.
God bless each and everyone of you.

Ralph, this is a wonderful tribute to what a mom does. How may I go about gaining permission to utilize your poem in a book being written? -Charlotte

Hi Charlotte, thanks for your comment! I have no objection to you using a poem in a book I'll check and see if there's a procedure with Poetry Soup but as far as I'm concerned you're welcome to use it! Thank you!

Very Sweet, Ralph. Thank you so much for the appreciation. I will remember it the next time I'm on my knees, scrubbing the floor. Now that we've both retired, I've discovered that he's retired, but I'm not.

God bless YOU for recognizing the hard lives women endure. Sometimes these chores are done happily, Ralph, but they are ENDLESS to say the least. Bravo! A poem for my favorites. Love, Carolyn

Thank you, Ralph, for recognizing a woman's many acts of love for and service to family. A man's work is never done, either...if he helps his wife! (LOL) Some men do that and the moments together soar to perfection. The family benefits and mom is VEERY happy! Big smiles on this one. It is nice to be appreciated. Lovingly, Dane Ann

Thank you for this tribute. It's taken me right back to the time when my children were younger. Perfect rhythm-and-rhyme. Well done on this enjoyable piece, Ralph.
