A Woman Saw The Empty Raft Floating Down the River part 2

The woman pondered
If what shwe has seen
Of the empty raft
Was it really there?

Where did the person go?
As far as she knew
No one was missing
Yet the raft was empty
What happened here?

She has returned back
To the river bank
Trying to figure out
What had happened here
She was looking closer

The raft was empty
No clues were seen there
She went on the land
Searching for clues
She spotted a jacket

The other shoe not found
She spotted a jacket
All found on the ground
There was no shelter
With no campfire

There were many clues
That did not make sense
No one was there to be seen
What happened here?
Clues told her nothing

What happened here?
Where is the missing per4son?
No one reported missing
How did the shoe and jacket
get there?
A mystery unsolved

Dear Darlene, You captured the fundamental human urge to find answers and make sense of the baffling, even when they don't appear to be forthcoming, much like certain life tales never finish and remain ringing long after we've moved on. Good luck,

Dear Darlene, reading both parts together, the mystery deepens in such a compelling way. I love how you let the woman’s concern grow step by step, the empty raft, the missing shoe, the jacket on the ground, each detail widening the sense of unease. You capture that very human instinct to search, to make sense of what doesn’t add up, even when the answers refuse to appear, as some stories in life stay open, echoing long after we walk away. Blessings, Daniel

I think there is a show called unsolved mysteries. This sure fits into that category. I am sure this is fictional and yet I bet something like it has happened sometime in this world

Your poem is intriguing, as all mysteries are, and the persson's eagerness to solve the mystery, certainly strikes a chord. Yet some mysteries are never solved. I enjoyed this captivating tale, Darlene. :)

Sorry about that, it was me, that was one hell of a good bottle of wine, I fell in the river, and just walked home, all is good, but if you have my shoe, wouldn't mind that back! :) Loved this poem.

Indeed, a mystery. If only empty rafts could talk, as the wind and the sea, language of their own, such stories to be enchantingly translated. Love a good mystery. Got me hooked here Darlene. Good one.

What happened indeed. One would hope that the clothes were left on the raft and it drifted away while the owner was exploring somewhere. Takes investigating. I think I would report what I saw. Good piece. God Bless, JB
