A Woman In Love

there she sat with her woven cap and black cat a top of her sofa
there she spends hours it seems coupled in her field of dreams
she dances in a ring of fire yet throws off each challenge with a shrug
life to her is beyond her means living in a land so very mean
Dressed in her Sunday's best she feels that life is but a test
missed her Uber ride she now sits in the shade alone
captivated with a Streisand tune she becomes more alive
in tuned to the hidden beast's menagerie falling apart at the seams

she loves to be loved in her timeless grasp when to over react
she's a woman in love push the clouds away from the manure on the mud
Vanquished left inside she hides away from the silence of the hour
her desire for love takes a back seat for her brave soldier

gone off in the war left for Iran
she's a woman in love teach her to sit still & take notice
