A Wishing Well

Today, I found a wishing well
Made for someone who wishes well
And those who are well wishers
And those with dreams to tell

The cost is just a penny
Only a penny for your thoughts!
And if you have no penny
Your wish will be for not

Some might try to cheat the well
By throwing rocks or sticks
But, what good is a wish to those
Who're willing to cheat for it?

So, I threw in a nickel
Just for some extra luck
And made a wish just big enough
The well could draw it up

And of course, my wish was granted
I found my way back home
But I wish I had wished bigger
'Cause where that well is, I don't know
