A Wish To the Moon

Illuminating beneath the moonlight
She made a wish
Closing her eyes
under the iridescent spotlight

She was not greedy
For it was only one request
To feel happy
No longer depressed

Then a flash lit up the sky
Opening her eyes
A peculiar man stood
in front of her half her size

You made a wish
Tonight to the sky
He asked waiting
For a reply

Stuttering still in disbelief
She nodded nervously
Insatable craving for relief

I Grant the wishes that
Come from the moon
First let me tell
You we all have wounds

Perplexed the young girl
Did not understand
She began to cry
Forever feeling damned

Let me tell you about going
through Pain
Well see if it's a wish
you still want to attain

The moon shines on the darkest
Of nights
To give every creature some
Form of light

He sits back and watches the
Sun in complete bliss
At times feeling
No one knows he exists

When he is suffering the most
 he is only a sliver
Even though not wanting
He still delivers

Yes he is not as bright
As the burning sun
however he is significant
and needed a ton

So young lady you see
Everyone has pain
You can't wish it away
For we all have that stain

She looked up and smiled
For it all made sense
Like the moon
She would battle her sadness
Regardless how intense
