A Wish, a Hope, a Wing, a Prayer

A wish, a hope, a wing, a prayer Be it fervent or fluidly flung in the air Something to unite a divided nation To reflect our best, our deepest aspirations And an orator to deliver it on an eagle's wing Ringing phrases to make our collective heart sing Is there somewhere a voice, our vision to renew Or is this just a pipe-dream, nevermore to come true

Hello Gershon … unfortunately in modern society our leaders are influenced by money, greed, and how to convince the masses that their lies mean hope. It appears to be a corrupt world but it won't last forever. Thank you Gershon - Lindsay

Ah, love your vision, that it won't last forever. Surely you're right, just as the USSR and the Third Reich didn't last forever... This too will pass! Thanks, Lindsay. ~ Gershon

Ohh, the way your poetry sings. It’s what I adore! May that first line catch on like a wind-bell in a brisk breeze!

Let's hope and pray that you are right, Kim. Our beleaguered populace really needs to hit the pause button, and drink deeply of some fresh air! :) gw

Thank you, Sandra. I, too, hope that someone and/or something will come along to shake us up and realize that we have more in common, as Americans, than we know. Best wishes, Gershon

The left is determined to gain power through identity politics. They use projection to accuse the other side of engaging in the very thing they are promoting. They have no interest in helping to heal the country. It's their way or the highway. They look forward to the day when twenty million illegal aliens go to the polls and put them in power for a generation. This is not the fault of the immigrants. They are just a tool of the left. Have a great day.

David, everything you wrote is true. And I'm not just saying that... Yet I believe that the media has magnified the influence of the Left far beyond what it is actually is. I maintain my faith that you can't b.s. the average American worker. Hope I'm right. If not, Katy bar the door! Thank you for your thoughts and insights. Always welcome! :) gw

Excellent and thought provoking. Presently, madness, rules. Not even simple logic. What to expect from a nation lied to wanting revenge for something thar never occurred, The lies are dished out like dessert, swallowed and internalized. My suggestion is your religious roots for answers directions and sanity, the war on Jews and Christians is on. Forget any sane speaker, they are jeered. PR

You know, I'm thinking about it, and who of the religious ilk can we turn to? A Pope who lacks even a shred of credibility? … A Muslim Iman? I'm trying not to cringe there. And there hasn't been a Jewish leader willing to stick his neck out since the Lubavicher Rebbe died in 1994. And how many would follow the Messiah today? ---Perhaps, alas, it is hopeless. ~ gw
