A Winters Day
Early in the morning,
you expect to awake and see,
a bright new day dawning,
blue skies and green leaves.
Instead the clouds are dark grey,
and the trees are all bare,
no children have come out to play,
even the birds have flown away.
The window pane is frosted white,
and no cars seem to be heard outside,
the grass is white and no more green,
and the sky is an awful sight.
Everyone is snug inside,
except for the flowers ,
as they have died.
Just the clouds enjoy the day,
as for all of us,
inside is where we'll stay
