Flakes fall softly through the night. The moon is big and gold. We are cuddled up in bed, too cozy to be cold. Like the snow, we deeply fall, but into dreamy sleep - unaware how very steep are drifts of snow that creep. Wakened to a vanished street and icicles like blades all hanging sparkling silver, we rush outside with spades! Written Dec. 3, 2016 for Shadow Hamilton's A Winter Poem Contest

Having never experienced snow (only through my parents' & siblings stories), you definitely took me there with you (plus with photos to boot!)... I was all ready to just snuggle up and then oh! the harsh reality of having to shovel all that snow... I can only imagine how hard that is! I enjoyed your second stanza the most here, sweetie pie...

I've come through Farley's Canyon so many times when the snow was falling and roads were icy, you can have the snowy weather. Love the poem, Andrea. I could tell you some stories about all the snow I have seen.
