A Winter Night

The snow is blowing hard tonight
The north wind is giving such a fright
It howls at me all night long
As though it sings a violent song

The animals are tucked away
Some sound asleep til springs thaw days
The snow now blankets all I see
Jack Frost is working on most every tree

The fireplace burns it's wood so bright
With flames that light the house at night
It's warmth now feels so very neat
I put my arm around my sweet

Some of our friends come into view
To share some laughs and a bite or two
We'll talk and laugh the night away
We'll get to bed at mornings ray

For the right me a winter poem contest
