Notes About The Poem

A Winter Fairytale

“Follow your dreams and never let them pale Be the star of a winter fairytale.” * * *
Once upon a time a sweet bonnie lass Did all her horrendous stepmother asked Toiling all day her dream kept her going That one day in love she would be glowing. Her girlish charm was a breath of fresh air Singing and dancing in spite of her cares She so missed her mother, now laid to rest But for her father's sake she did her best. One day when out shopping her dream came true Boy meets girl and love between the two grew She felt like a Princess who'd found her Prince And had been walking on air ever since. ‘Twas her lovely winter of wonderment Tho’ bleak and cold this love was heaven sent She could never speak of the joy she’d found For her life would become a battleground. Sadly their love never came to flourish Their meetings being too few and hurried Being trapped just like a bird in a cage She wouldn't risk raising her stepmothers rage. Endurance taken to upmost limit Tho' his love be generous in spirit Moon shadow's were cast o'er fated distress Gone was the amore that once took her breath. She had loved with womanly heart on fire Yet coming like a bouquet of barbed wire A mighty thunderbolt from out the blue She'd lost the one who'd sworn his love was true. Reliving memories of shattered dreams In yesterday's glorious reveries Tears came streaming, rolling like a river No more I-love-you's whispered in her ear. Then along came a fairy godmother Who waved her wand o’er one then the other The two she then joined in matrimony The rest is a blessed lifelong love story. * * *

Hi Belle, You have penned another well-written write. Your title alone caught my attention. Although the ending wasn't my forte, it's reality; things don't always work out the way we want them to. Excellent job.Well done. Have a great day:-) Alexis

Hi Belle, Your story was good before, but I must say, I do love the happy ending—my kind of fairy tale. Enjoy the rest of your day:-) Alexis
