A Whole Story In Strips
A story unfolded
On a monitor strip
From the laughter when eating Chinese food
To the small talk that ended in an explosive argument
Oxygen still pumping
From regular to irregular
From controllable to uncontrollable
Heart palpitations
Mind racing
A little dose of sedation
To sleep those thoughts
A son's fight with his mother
A mother's fight to breathe
And as he walked away, she lay there fighting for her life
