A Whole Lot Stronger
I will no longer allow you to beat me down,
And no longer will I wear a frown.
I was able to wake up and get on my dress,
I've done what I needed to work through the mess.
I am able to wear a smile today,
I'm done with just being okay.
I'm getting a whole lot stronger,
You cannot hold me down any longer.
I belong to me,
And none of this will you ever see.
One good lesson I have learned,
Is that I don't have to be continuously burned.
I carry my head high now with pride,
Look at everything you have to hide.
I am getting a whole lot stronger,
You cannot hold me down any longer.
I have excepted responsibility for what I've done,
I no longer have to run.
You claimed to be a friend,
My back I did break and bend.
For you I lied,
For you I cried.
But I'm getting a whole lot stronger,
And you cannot hold me down any longer!
