A Whimsical Flight
My friends said it couldn't be done:
so, I thought it might be fun.
And though it felt like a dream:
I assembled my ground team.
I took my time explaining:
what I was contemplating.
And they gathered all I'd need:
including a bag of feed.
Now, hippos aren't meant to fly:
yet I am willing to try.
But balloons will have to do:
though, it will take quite a few.
I then asked my sniper friend:
if he would help me descend?
And pop a balloon or two:
when my whimsical flight's through.
That way, I'll slowly drift down:
till I'm safely on the ground.
It's such an exciting day:
I'm stoked to get underway!
I'm scared: yet, I'm loving it:
and don't regret it a bit!
I'm floating amidst the clouds:
peering down on cheering crowds.
Who'd have guessed hippos could fly:
I'm so happy I could cry.
Floating on a sea of air:
without a worry or care.
