A Wet Tale

With the wet and dry

Telling tales of death and life

To the world of people young and old,

The rise and fall of the best and worst

Lies in the arms of the weak and strong…

When the yearnings of the past and present

Look to the future for food and drink

We should know that the ups and downs

Of our earnest heart becomes a tale told and untold

To living children born and unborn…

The log of wood in my eyes blurred and clear

Ensures I focus on my flaws hidden and known

For I have on me my life and death

That I see not others living and dying

And that my deeds I account for near and far…
