A Wasted Day

On waking this morn
just before dawn
my head
it was pounding
so loud it was sounding
I stumbled from bed
hands holding my head
and opened the door
to my balcony
as fresh air may be
of some help to me

But no, this headache
was not going to go
so tablets were taken
feeling so god forsaken
and drinking some water
dehydrated ~ so I oughta
the pain still persisted
going out I resisted
and went back to bed
spent my day there instead
for this wretched headache
would not go away
until 10 pm at the end of my day
when I shouted loudly
Hip, Hip, Hurray!

Then this poem I penned
day not wasted in the end!

Written after recovering from a very painful headache today ~ 4th June 2019

Your writing is so clear, do you know that? It's refreshingly honest, too, Ann. Huggs Panagiota. xoxo

Nice penning Ann, so beautifully delivered but sorry about the headache but glad its cleared up eventually. I used to get loads of tension headaches and only Nurofen plus could shift them but just get the occasional one now. Have a blessed pain free day on Friday, Gordon

Oh thank you so much Gordon for your lovely visit. Yes I too used to get lots of tension headaches in the past, but I have not really had any for years, so this one was not nice and really knocked me out for the day! But I am feeling so much better now! Wishing you a beautiful Friday Gordon, with kindest thoughts Ann xx

I suffer from frequent headaches and this poem surely gonna act as a reliever to me from now on. An instant fave and I'm gonna read this whenever the headache monster catches me. Reading this gives me an assurance that I'm not alone. LOL!!

Funny how the ills in life become the threads of a poem. Glad you’re feeling better!

I hardly ever get headaches now Tom, so to wake with a 'blinder' this morning was not great, but many thanks for your lovely visit and yes I feel so much better now - thank you Tom. With kindest thoughts Ann xx

I am sorry to hear of your headache Ann. It seems like when you get older, some crazy illness or malady is hiding in the potted plant, ready to "sock it to you" . I hope all is better today; I trust your headache is gone now. I send you love and wishes for good health.

Oh bless you Caren, for your concern and kind wishes and yes I am feeling so much better now, thank you. More importantly I am hoping you are also feeling brighter, although I understand that shingles can go on for a while! Take care Caren, with kindest thoughts Ann xx
