A Warrior's Fight
It's been said that
God gives his hardest battles
To his strongest soldiers.
Those who endure
The seemingly impossible
And unimaginable
Continue to faithfully fight
To the bitter end.
A warrior's valor tested
Time and time again
Ends in the same result.
Like an eternal flame
The fighter within them remains
Giving up is not an option
Quitting isn't in the vocabulary,
And just as sure as
God made Heaven and Earth,
A warrior will undoubtedly
Prove their worth.
Whether it's for themselves
Or someone else,
There's no two ways about it.
When adaptation and improvisation
Are the keys to opening
The doors of possibility,
A warrior will find a way.
Sacrificing without complaint.
Often times smiling
Through the deepest of pains
In a never ending battle for
The pursuit of their happiness
And the happiness of others.
Their eyes have seen
What their hearts and minds
Will never forget.
Only to be prepared for
The ultimate battle of a lifetime.
When you have to fight
To stay alive no matter
What your situation may be.
When there are others who need you
Courage, strength, integrity,
Determination and faith
Become your battle dress,
Your shield and sword.
You are that warrior.
And warriors never quit.
Despite what you've been through,
And may have yet to face
When it's all said and done,
The reward will always be
In its rightful place.
Within the soul of the warrior.
Within you.
