A Warm Summers Day
Time stood still on this
warm summer day
Flowers full bloom as
their sweet scent wafts
upon the warm summer breeze
The clear stream weaves it's way
between the trees as their full
leaves provide shade from the heat
of the day, two squirrels playfully
caught in a game of tag while a robin
sits perched in her nest taking a
quick nap before her offspring wakes
demanding to be fed
Even the cat and dog play together
on this beautiful afternoon when
mother comes out of the house carrying
a basket of wet clothes to hang on the
clothes line so they
can drink in the days many scents
sealing it into every fiber smelling of
this gorgeous day when the next one
Pulls it from the closet and
holds the freshness to their nose
Ahh today is a perfect
summer day
Holding all those summer
smells, and sights all teasing
my senses I'm enjoying all these
things happening in front of me
Then I closed my eyes to fall into a
peaceful sleep where I dreamt of
the very same things I had seen
Beauty that's followed me into
my dreams
