Sunday morn I woke it was early June
I jumped out of bed and walked to the beach
The sun wasn't up yet but would rise soon
Above me a seagull made a loud screech.
The eastern sky glowed with a fiery red
Was blinded as the sun started to rise
I would have missed it had I stayed in bed
Nature at best before my very eyes.
In the distance I heard the peel of bells
The waves were gently lapping on the shore
'Twas littered with seaweed and pretty shells
And I could have stayed here for ever more
My mother I'd promised to take to church
Home I went couldn't leave her in the lurch.
