A Walk In the Park

Through all the hours
we find ourselves sitting on a park bench
with the moon as our only light
glowing over the pond
underneath my favorite tree
You put me on you
You hold me close
You make me feel safe
You make me feel taken care of
You tell me, "There's something special about you."
We walk on home
after only a short while
We bid our farewells to a hug
where I never want to let go
I want you to stay
I don't want it to be a dream I long for
but you must go until another time
And you, my friend, were on a 14th
