A Walk In the Night

Screams and raucous screeches
Identified world of owls in the darkness
The tears of vultures in the darkness
The doom of man

Stuck in a faux environment
A frivolous and fervent mood I was
As the red-legged black saints cried for food
Forgotten in the pool of blood an innocent being

Dogs crowed like cocks
Cocks barked like dogs
Fishes cried in the sea like men
Fishes sent out as the ocean dried up
While young crocodiles carried the bigger ones

The meeting of the black saints
So unfortunate to witness
Night embattled the day as
Day embattled the night

To relate all the woes?
Better I walk in the sun
Than witness this black atmosphere again
As I walk in the night.

A voice crying in the darkness, seeing the pains of mankind. Searching for the light. This is a riveting poem, Adeniji. Very spiritual w/layers of reality spread upon it. Exquisite poetry, very expressive. Good job, my friend. Love and joy to you.
