A Walk Around

A walk around suburban streets Is peaceful and it's pretty But if you want to people-watch You just can't beat the city. My grandson's neighborhood's The perfect venue for a stroll With lots of ghosts and pumpkins But with not one living soul. I love to have his company Though when it's only me, Manhattan, with its melting pot, Is where I'd rather be. *originally posted yesterday, but deleted by Poetry Soup (as per an email I received from them)

You just made me wish I lived in a lively city. For where I live, it makes me feel, isn't it a pity. :)

Amen, Ilene!! … I lived in a suburb of Chicago from age 10 - 18. Used to walk around the block a couple times in the evening and see---nobody. Even used to yell out (ala "A Thousand Clowns"): 'Alright, all you campers. It's time for volleyball now!" Again, nothing. ... It's the city, for sure, for me! Best wishes, Gershon
