A Voice In the Hall

I heard a voice in the hallway. 
Said “Good morning!” 
With a lilt. 
Startled me. 
It is 1:11 a.m. 
Husband is asleep. 
Dog does not speak English. 
It was a little girl’s voice.
I am in the hallway staring. 
Wide awake now...

I agree w/Susan ... spooky experience ink expressed, Caren. This poem delivers the shivers big-time. Nocturnal awakening sometimes can be surreal. Keep shining the light on dark shadow subjects. Aurora bright poetry. Love and more love always.

It happened this morning, and I jumped up and immediately looked around the corner, expecting to see my husband playing at little "joke". Um....no.
