A Visit To Moma

The puppets from “Pinocchio”
Were beautifully displayed;
Picassos, Cezannes and Van Goghs
Were artfully arrayed.

The photographs and furniture
Were waiting to be seen
By locals, tourists, school groups
And all people in between.

At MOMA* there is so much art –
Kandinsky, Rothko, Klee –
Just one thing has been missing,
‘Til today, and that was me!

Oh gosh, I miss the city so much. I used to live 40 minutes away. I went to MOMA to see the Degas exhibit once. I love French Impressionism. It was so exciting and just breathtaking. My cell phone screen saver is of one of the ballerinas I was allowed to photograph. You must be artistic to love MOMA so much. Again, I am so glad to find another of your poems bringing back a wonderful memory for me.

Was there but once and that was years ago, Ilene. Saw my first van Gogh there and a few of his selected letters. Living in a city has its advantages, but I'll still take the quiet countryside any day. / Maurice

Well worth the visit, no? A great museum. Glad you went and I know you enjoyed it. Your poem properly extolled its virtues.

Delightful, Ilene. What a wonderful way to spend a day...or several...in NYC. I haven't been to this one, but I have been to the Louvre in Paris, and to the Smithsonian in D.C.
