A Very Different World

A Very Different World

A rip appears
Not noticed by many
Reality twists and turns
Swirling around the jagged edges
Whatever we knew
Whatever we will know is wrong
Nothing would remain the same
The people we loved are no longer who they were
Our memories of them have changed
Events that made us who we were never happened
Or maybe they happened to others
War and peace never existed
Nobody cared about territory or money
The skies never lighten or darken
There’d never be a sunrise or a sunset
Rainbows would be a distant memory
If they were remembered at all
We’d live in a very different world
Not better
Not worse
Just different
