A Valued Member of the Family

Let me tell you a story…. About a year loving pet named big red, I still can’t believe he’s dead. He was such a wonderful dog, He wasn’t a bump on a log. He was my protector and friend, My love for him will never end. Everyone in the neighborhood, adored him too, he was good. I cried when he got hit by a car, his passing left a gigantic scar. Dad buried him and in our backyard, everyone in the family took it hard. He wasn’t just a pet, he was my brother, we had the same father and mother. I will always cherish him in my heart, for he my heart right from the start. 04/16/2022

I can understand and feel your grief my friend, I lost my beautiful loving brown green eyed Labrador at three years old to leukemia, Coco I wrote a poem about her. Hello and goodbye Coco. I still cry when I think about her and keep a photo of her on my desk. You will always remember Big Red. Hugs and blessings Jennifer

I can relate to your experience and I deeply feel your sense of loss ! I too went through the same pain ! Your poem is quite touching and is composed in beautiful rhyme. I never thought a dog would become a member of the family ! If time permits, I invite you to read my poem- A Tribute to my Dog !
