A True Love Was Found

By the shores of a lake, a true love was found. Love's search now was over, a Queen she was crowned. Life's promise re-awakened, love's rewards now awaited. Glorious nights to share passions – That shall never be sated. Since then a world travelled - diamonds too played a part. Their shared love - almost treason – now found coming apart. With words still unspoken - and without expectation, A crown found discarded - reflected her sudden resignation. So many tomorrows since then, have now passed, And still there's deep sorrow, they said would not last. With unmanly tears that continue to flow. A broken heart's lament - that just will not slow. If with another - true love since she's found. Then love's journey surely, just a merry-go-round. All hope then is lost that this love might rekindle, And his dreams of a union must surely now dwindle. The dark of long lonely nights reflect on each day. Yet his belief she'll come back - will just not go away. A love with such promise never again to be found, Cannot be discarded - not even with reason - for it's far too profound.
