A Tribute To Maya A

and she lives
his definition of beauty - phenomenally.

and so she thrives
this caged bird of so long ago - free.

she sings.

history survives

his story of Maya never dies.

even if smoke and drinks collide
even if we jazz from January until June
even if friends and foes hide

his story of Maya never dies.

history survives

she sings.
she flies.
she reflects all that I am afraid to show

my insides.
