A Triad of Haiku III

Small, Unctuous frog,

Squatting on his lily pad,

Only yawns to eat.
--------------------------------------

Gaudy cherry trees,

Fearful of a rising wind,

Grip their blossoms tight.
--------------------------------------

The stream's headwaters

Have not yet seen the valley;  

Nor we yet Heaven.
--------------------------------------

The stream, originating from the mountains and travelling to the valley hasn't seen it yet, we too in our pilgrimage is yet to reach heaven. It trys to convey to the reader a 'leap of faith': although the streams headwaters have never seen a valley...they still know it is there; likewise, a person who has a strong, unshakable faith does not have to see Heaven to know that it, also, is there. :) john
