A Total Waste of Oxygen

As we turn the pages of our life And we reach the final chapter We realize it was pretty entertaining Now what the hell comes after Well it all depends on who you talk to No one has a definitive answer Until we reach that crossover point No one can predict the herafter If there was a way of maybe a preview To prepare us for what's to come We might wanna change this and that To delay that last final run Guess I don't want to know the exact date Kinda freaky I'd hasten to say When approaching that final moment What would be my last foray What if I've done nothing really special I die and I'm all but forgotten That dreaded fear, it was all for nothing A total waste of oxygen © Jack Ellison 2013

Just for my unsavory poetry topics I know I'll end up in a very hot place. I'd better start writing about flowers and the ocean and stars and stuff. I'm not too bothered really. I just hope wherever I go I'll have an internet connection and a Santa for good company and poetry. Lovely write, my mad friend. Hugsasmoochies, Licia :-)

It makes me feel bad for the atheists that they don't have anything they are expecting afterwards. I used to think I knew the answers but these days I just am not so sure any more. However, I cannot believe this whole journey on our life's path was for naught. Surely there is something And if it's a benevolent God, I think we have some really great things to look forward to!! I really enjoyed this read, Jack.

Each sunrise is a gift for us. Unwrap it. Don't peek beforehand. Just embrace what we do have and make great memories from that gift that is given to us. Nothing less...great writing & reflection, Jack.

This is a wonderfully glorious write my friend! And no, you are certainly not a total waste of oxygen Jack...not at all! I know about the preparation of ones own demise, I especially felt that whenever I had surgery when I was younger, I was afraid I wouldn't wake up after being put under! But alas, I made it, if put more confidence in me for future surgeries! I really enjoyed reading this delightful poem here this morning! What a fantastic piece, Great Work!!

I met GOD at 17 when I was accidentally electrocuted. He ask what I had done with my life... Then everything that had hurt someone else flashed before me... Even the things I hadn't realized I'd done... He told me to stay clean and I would blossom... He only cared about the state of my heart and what I'd freely done for others to help... He smiled and erased my sins... He didn't care about who would remember me... and I don't care either as long as he smiles upon me... There was sooo much love!
