A Time For Change

Do you remember Skipping with a rope..alone Or catching 'jacks' with stones. Do you recall Tennis against an old brick wall Or conker contests in the fall. Did you chalk out hopscotch squares Play make believe,games of dare Hide and seek or touch and run In a childhood wrapped in fun. Is simplicity a thing of the past Will life in a circle turn Will common sense..return?

yes this poem took me back to those days of long ago of our youth when things were so at ease and peaceful. I don't even know if kids do these things anymore do they? a great piece of poetry. thank you Brian for reading my poetry and for your kind comments

Oh Brian, do I remember? Those memories are sheer treasure. I go back there often, and just revisited as I read. (Except for conker contests?) Love those last two lines. Who knows. Awesome write. Love, Shar

Brian, you ask us if we remember and then question again if we can regain the innocence of the past. Well, those are both very important qualities for happiness now. This is nostalgic and thought provoking. Very well written. Michael
