A Thing of the Past

Bittersweet what we had
That love was a time in the past
Cut so deep
Fuel with raged
The love I had for you
could never be staged
Amid love
You had my heart
But the rain came
And we were in the dark
Fighting to be together
Just so far apart
Yet, you walk away
Left me there
needed to find my way
Through the pain, I traveled
Seeking the love, I lost
Or what I thought that matter
Empty inside
Needing to behold
My heart was dark, empty & cold
The reality was
I lack my soul

Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God bless you.
