A Teardrop In the Rain
Catch it, a teardrop in the rain,
Forever may it wash the pain away,
Safe places, free of fear,
Somewhere to wipe the tear away.
I wish for a place like that,
Somewhere warm,
With people,
Someone strong.
I wish that I could hold the world,
Lay it out on my curled fingertips.
And look down in awe,
While all I have known before faintly slips.
Sliding away,
A landslide in some emotive plane,
Faintly quivering,
Fragile and humble in the face of pain.
And I ask what I need to do,
To be true to me,
To find my place in this life,
A place where I can just be,
Somewhere far away.
Somewhere safe,
With peace.
Somewhere to live free,
And feel the world washing through,
Like a teardrop in a rainstorm,
A tiny ripple,
A part of me.
All my own,
Of my own strength,
And far, far away.
