A Taste of Texas
Texas has been kind to me;
You have to understand.
In the state of Texas;
Is where I found my man.
They raise a lot of cattle,
Bovines large beyond belief.
I think this is the reason;
That Texans love their beef.
You grind it and you pound it,
Most any cut will do.
Then brown it in a big old pot;
Add onion when you're through.
Cook down with red tomatoes,
And lots of chili powder;
Add garlic, salt and pepper.
Then simmer for an hour.
I like Texas Chili
I always add some beans,
Not everybody's favorite
But better than it seems.
Texas has been kind to me;
So do not be forlorn;
In the state of Texas,
Is where my son was born.
Please let me just reflect a bit;
And wax a little silly.
Texas has been kind to me,
And I like Texas Chile.
