A Talk With Father Adam

Someday I’ll sit and talk with Father Adam. He will have the answers to some things that bother me I’ve seen the world in all God’s awesome splendor And I’ve known God’s precious gift of living free. He will appear to be much older than pictures drawn by man And remember, we never saw him as a child. What was the discontent that altered his intent And brought all mankind out of Eden to the wild? I have seen the pain of being shackled And many ruthless tyrants’ atrocities. I’ve witnessed all the wrongs that sometimes come along, When people cannot live together peacefully. I’ll see concerns on Adam’s furrowed brow, That eons haven’t erased, somehow. I will hear him as he wonders how The world became what it is now. I’ll ask him all about his family And just how all this came to be. The beauty of man’s home in Eden Has turned into the chaos you now see. We’ll have the time to answer the questions history brings But, somehow, we cannot approach the one that bothers me. So, I’ll clear my throat, take one deep breath, And ask, so innocently, “If you had known what the effect would be Would you have eaten the fruit from that damn tree?” Written By John Posey 04/11/13

Hi John, thanks for stopping by and reading my poems. Great poem John! Lots to learn when in heaven. Yes, have studied the scriptures for more than 20 years. Shame more people don't search for the beauty inside God's word. You have a wonderful gift! God bless, Maureen

Wow, John, what an ambitious subject to tackle! It's been awhile since I've read anything from you and I've been missing out. This was so heartfelt and well constructed... I've never heard anyone say Father Adam before, but it prompted me to click this post, and absorb the wonderful thoughts you have to offer. It's incredible to me that all this started offer one slight disobedience towards the creator... superb writing!

John, i think God send us his son to live poor, be cursed at, spited at, blamed, hated till he was crucified, so that is why, i think like this to make my questions answered without waiting for what can never be answered. We are living humiliated, cursed, poor, sick, afraid and so on, the way Jesus lived, so we have to have faith in God love him an unconditional love , to find some happiness, as He send His Own Son, how much did God sacrifice for us. to be born and live to love Him. So many unanswered questions, right? When my father was dying in my arms...I told him to tell Jesus "thank you." I hope he did. He saves us from all this chaos and gives us hope. The price he had to pay..I am not worthy...thanks for commenting on my site...xx Holly Moore
