A Summer Cold

I've got a cold,
I`ve got sniffles and sneezes.
I`ve got chills and fever,
Because of the breezes,

That whistle around,
The eaves of my house,
Causing all to take cover,
Be it kin, cat or mouse.

I`ve vbeen dipped in the pond,
Called Misery.
Been sittin`here thinkinn`,
Pore pitiful me.

Can`t humm a tune,
To chase `way my blues,
Cause I lost my voice,
And my ears are plugged too.

The season of rains,
Is on us again,
And though we have need of them,
They bring with them,

The colds and the flu,
Of the ending of Summer,
And I don`t have to tell you,
It`s really a bummer.

My head hurts, I`m dizzy,
I ache,
This ain`t no cold,
I got the flu.

Thanks so much for writing back Andrea. Yeah it's been quite a bad one. Still talking like "Whispering Smith." lol Going on three weeks now. Got sent home from work because I was so sick. Been spending lots of time in bed on a cold medicine high. Seem to be coming back slowly now. Hope I'm on the mend. God Bless, JB

Thanks Kyle. I've been really sick with this but think I may be coming back slowly. Still got a deep sexy voice as my daughter calls it. It's a hoarse whisper. Been three weeks now. I'm really tired of being so sick. God Bless, JB

Hi Jack, Thanks for writing back. It's been three weeks now and I still have a "deep sexy voice" as my daughter calls it. It's a hoarse whisper. I still get tired really fast and spend a lot of time in bed taking cold medicine. (YUCH) Still sneezing, coughing and blowing my nose. this has been a "Ninja Cold". My daughters coined that phrase. I you say something is a Ninja Whatever that means it's a killer. God Bless, JB

HUGS i hope you are better. You describe the flu so well in this poem. Have not had a lot of time on the computer lately so just wanted to check in and say hello. Cold and rainy here too in Regina. Did get my garden off and made my borscht and froze 14 containers. Get well soon. love phyl

Hi Phillis, Thanks for writing. Been sick for three weeks now though the weather hasn't been too bad. Pretty sunny actually. Still talk in a hoarse whisper. Still sneezing, coughing and blowing my nose. Spend lots of time in bed because I get really tired real fast. God Bless, JB
