A Sullen Silken Star
Stiffly staring
from a faded
frightened far
is a sullen
silken star.
Scornfully
scattered behind
it’s skittish
skin of scolded
scowling scars.
Youthfully
yearning
for a life
contentedly
cleansed in
candlelight.
