A Stream Where I Used To Play

I walked along a stream one day
where as a child I did play
As I walked it seemed the stream did say
where have you been my dear old friend
I have been living in the world of men
where there is little time for streams
and so too little time for dreams
The stream replied this world I know
tis the place where all the children go
They go off to that world of men
seldom to return again
I came back
was my reply
though many a season has passed us by
And so you have
said the stream
though this be
simply a dream

G'day Kevin … nice Kevin. I enjoyed the little streams as you described in preference to large waterways. There was so much to discover close hand, even though there was no monster fish of one was unlucky enough to be hooked - thanks Kevin - Lindsay
