A Stream of Consciousness

in the city of Dublin
the seagulls cry out their desire
to fly back to the open sea
hearing them I think of my space
reduced to the one-way sky

a stranger tells me
*priveste imaginea de ansamblu
I wonder how could I
every second shrinks my shadow
ironically I sip my English tea
when you awkward stubborn sun
make my field hurry towards a late green

I can’t swim against the stream
but unaware of a deadline yet
I linger on the streets of my poems

* priveste imaginea de ansamblu
*to look at the large picture

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

This has a feel of stream of conciousness writing. I like the concreteness of the seagulls and of places. It reads quite nicely and lets you imagine.

No better place for stream of consciousness ;) what language is this? I don't think it's Gailic? This is another verse which would have ranked higher if it was longer with maybe 1 or 2 more phrases? An excellent write! Congrad's on your win. Light & Love

Hello Debbie and glad you appreciated my poem. Also congratulations for the contest you held. Most of my poems are written in Romanian and I am trying to translate them Which is not an easy job. I have the feeling that you lose a great deal of the poem's charm when you translate it. And especially with languages of different origin. But it is also fascinating to some extent!
