A Stone Buried In the Sands

There is once a dark-colored stone buried in the sands that was discovered by a young, small girl playing and digging not too far from the shore. And being so ecstatic of her discovery, she showed the stone to her parents and said that the stone is worth a million. Her parents smiled, looking at the stone so old and dirty. The next day, the girl showed the stone to her friends and laughed at it. Her friends said that the stone looks very weird. The girl was sad and told her friends that she needs to wash the stone to make it clean and bright. And so she left. One night, a fairy appeared to the young girl near the shore while the girl was looking at the stars, sitting on the wet sands. The fairy asked, "Where is your precious stone that you are so proud of?" The girl was stunned for seeing such a beautiful fairy. Her silence was broken and replied, "I threw it away because my friends laughed at it. They hate it." The fairy said, "I am the stone that you were keeping with you all the while since you found it. And I'm so happy for getting me out of the deep sands where I stayed for a long time." "Really?!" the girl responded aghast looking at the fairy. "Do you see all the stars tonight?... not all of them are bright, but smaller and hidden stars will shine one night. No matter how dim or small they are, they can be worth more than a star."

Clifford, your story-telling ability is as skilled as your poetry. Nicely written.
