Notes About The Poem

A Starving Artist

Watching from an old porch swing
An artist hangs from a string
Weaving without any hands
Carefully placing silk strands

With masterpiece on display
A tapestry, lace design
Up close observers must pay
Their life, on which she will dine

What an awesome, clever piece you have penned, in every respect - the personification, rhyme sequence, easy flow - all add up to a most enjoyable read this Saturday afternoon! Love and hugs. Pandita

G'day Daniel … well done. Spiders do fascinate me with their artistry and ability to lure the unsuspecting. Enjoyed - Lindsay

Had to read this clever poem twice before I got the point. Slowness comes with age, friend. I have one about the spider on somewhat the same amazing theme. It may still be on my post. Congratulations on your win, be it belatedly. / M

Oh what a deceptive web she weaves. One always gets drawn by the 'magic' of a spider spinning its web. Awesome poem Daniel. Congratulations on your fine win...Maria

Really enjoyed (and identified with) this one, Daniel---once had a roommate out East who tried the Greenwich Village scene for a year...and lost 35 pounds! Love the title and the poem. Congrats on your richly deserved win in the contest! ~ Gershon

Congratulations on your fine win, Danny. It's a pleasure reading this poem again. Both the imagery and the rhyme scheme contribute to make a success out of these spidery lines. Regards // paul

Truly creative and inspiring work my friend. As one that has been caught in far too many webs in my rash youth, this gem shines bright. A fav..
