A Star Closer To Home

You can not have light without darkness,
Shadows not graced by the suns love,
Corners keeping hold secrets and whispers,
A whole other world.
You can not have love without hate,
Hearts left cold by some forgotten farce,
Fueling fires untold,
While the heart beats cold.

This virgo filled sky as the sun hides,
Where corners burst with the dark,
And the world slumbers.
Some left awake by creaks and steps.

Though at night, as some philosophers step,
They gaze at the light within the dark,
Little dots on our vision, bright and welcoming.
They make shapes and colors,
Tell stories and lullabies,
Light the way to a peaceful sleep,
And never once leaving in our lifetime.
Perhaps it is a sign that there is always light,
Even when the world seems dark,
Our candles gone out.

I find there are more stars in life then just the ones above,
For those are far away,
when we need ones near.
People we know telling us theres nothing to fear,
Mothers coming in to wish us goodnight,
To sing a lullaby as the curtains close,
Sheltering you from that virgo filled sky.

Sometimes we need a place to hide,
A person to hold us and our sorrows,
Never minding the tears from the river of our hearts.
Someone to whisk away the confusion,
And let you're words out.

Mothers are something special,
A warmth only known to you ever since you opened your eyes.
Warmer than any blanket ever sewed,
And kinder than an flower ever grown.
So keep your mother close when you're scared,
For she will fight away the monsters,
And keep you dear, singing that lullaby,
As the curtains draw closed
