A St Paddy's Day Kyrielle

St. Paddy’s Day has come. At dawn,
Wake up and put a smile on!
The birds are whistling cheerily
This day of green, a day for glee.

The time has come for conjuring
The start of something sweet. . . Like spring!
So be footloose and fancy free
This day of green, a day for glee.

Go out and find a verdant place
And let the sunshine touch your face.
Relax; enjoy the scenery
This day of green, a day for glee.

A child’s soul inside you thrives.
Unloose it, and when night arrives,
Be ready for a jubilee
This day of green, a day for glee!

Then bring your favorite friends along
To laugh and dance and sing a song.
You’ll wish that life could always be
This day of green, a day for glee!

On this day of splendid glee I saw a leprechaun pee on a tree. Sure 'n ba gory. Just a bit of my own Irish humor. You might know it - I am Scotch. Big fun and enjoyment. Love, daver

Enthralling! Very nice rhythm; I don't think I have seen that on a kyrielle before. I like the carefree lightness of the poem.

This is a happy celebration. Nice. Makes me think of leprechauns. I can read this as if it is a song.

What a jubilant and elevating poem, Andrea! And I agree with Debra, it makes you want to kick off your shoes and swing your lass (or lad) around by the arm. I'm doing well, been busy. Hope you're good. ~Jeremy

Very fitting for the green challenge and very easy to read... Doesn't Chicago or some place west in America they literally DYE the canal green in honor of St. Patty's Day? Thought that was interesting...

You make rhythm and rhyme look so effortless! I think Francine will love this. I wish St. Paddy's Day could be green where I am... It's snowing again :(
