A Springtime Walk
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
walk down a spring woodland glade, wildflowers
early spring, old buddies, dandelions,
where fairies hide from early spring showers.
snowdrops, daffodils, chickweed companions.
another day, spring moving on, primrose
on shady banks, wood sorrel will follow.
now into the woods proper, bluebells pose,
a breeze, they ring, a fore trees shadow.
hazel on the woodland edge, their lambs tails,
male flowers, dominate females, tiny
bright red flowers, there sight, delighting males.
a breeze, pollination complete, timely.
spring now nearly done, the meadow beckons,
wildflowers, natures hallucinations!
