While driving down a Texas road
I marvel at the fields of blue,
prescribed by springtime’s color code.
The flowers always bloom on cue,
as prompted by the April rain,
and nature’s life begins anew.
These rolling hills are once again
bright blue as far as eyes can see
alive with color quite insane.
It makes me ponder, such degree
of beauty that is known to man;
it’s heaven’s gift to you and me.
I treasure this the best I can,
and with the world I’d like to share
what I have seen since time began.
The height of spring, a sight so fair,
the Texas Bluebonnets beyond compare.
