A Soul

The cold mechanical box beside me
Amplifies your heart beat
A Rhythmic dance to life

Through crystalline lenses, I saw your image
For the first time, an excellent preview of our future

Tears meandered silently across my chiselled cheeks
Together we embraced in the thought
The prospect of your creation

Life’s potential cocooned within the womb
Nestled within the warmth of your mother

Life had embarked on a journey that would see the
A twisted tail of events and fate
That at conception would have been prophesized

A sensation of fear moved through my body
As I knew that I would have to hold and protect you
Until the day that I die

Where does one gain the strength to hold your hand
I love you, and only wanted to know you

Thank You God for this wonderful gift
I hope to make you proud of me.
