A Sonnet for today
A sonnet is quite hard to write at best
with fourteen lines, three sets of four, then two.
Requirements really puts one to the test
but if you try hard you can write one too.
Just stress your syllables da Dum da Dum
in five iambic feet pentameter.
A single focus through your poem run
each stanza will develop your idea.
Because you have a talent we can see
by writing for us all a clever rhyme.
Therefore you need to take advice from me
and have a go I’m sure it will be fine.
Your final couplet turns on line thirteen
and if you do, you'll be a sonnet queen.
