A Sonnet For My Cat

You curl on my lap purring
the heat from your body is reassuring
I stroke your head you close your eyes
my heart flutters oh why oh, why?
you lick my hand so softly
I tickle your chin calmly
your eyes open the striking green
has me bewitched for you are my queen
your fur is silky and fluffy
my hand cannot stop stroking
for it makes me so happy
you begin to move your body twitches
for this is the end because
I must go and do the dishes
